Do all patients need surgery?
No. In fact, most patients being seen for the first time do not. However, there are exceptions, including emergencies, in this field.
Should I get a second opinion? Does Dr. Sylvester accept patients for second opinions?
Second opinions are always an option in our practice! If you would like to see another doctor other than myself, that is fine, I may know someone who can help you in the community. Our practice policy is we do not see our partners patients as a second opinion. If you have seen another doctor, and would like us to review your care, we are happy to do so.
How long will my visit take?
Our in person visits are booked for 20 minutes. We make great efforts to stay on time. If you care is not emergent, and you need more time, we may need to end your appointment early so that others do not have to wait. If that happens, we will schedule a telephone visit with you later in the week or the following week to complete the visit, this way you get as much time as you need and we respect all other patients’ time.
Can I bring family to my visit?
Yes, but please try to limit the group to 3-4 people, our rooms are not that large…
