Spine testing

Your doctor may order a test or tests based on your specific history and symptoms.  The most common testing we tend to order are as followed:

1. BMD scan: Bone mineral density scan, used to check for osteopenia and osteoporosis
2. CT: 3D picture of the bones in your spine
3. CT Myelogram: 3D picture of the bones in your spine with contrast in the spinal canal
4. Discography: Contrast injection into the disc between vertebral bodies
5. EMG: Needle study measuring activity of muscle and nerves
6. MRI: 3D picture of your spine and associated soft tissue structures
7. X-ray: 2D picture of the bones in your spine
