What if I do not have an MRI?
MRI does often help us make a diagnosis, but is not always required for neurosurgical evaluation. Imaging of the brain is generally needed for neurosurgical evaluation, since patients often come to our attention after diagnosis. Spine is different, in many cases the patient presents for neurosurgical evaluation with symptoms first, so an MRI will not always be available. Our office is happy to review care and can often accommodate visits without an MRI.
Can your office obtain my scans?
Yes, on intake, our medical assistant will work with you to ensure that we have your images for your appointment. In many cases, if images are requested from another facility, the exact location and date of the imaging is needed to process that request. Ideally, these images will be available at least a week before your appointment so they can be reviewed by our staff in detail prior to your appointment.
